the JSE are not just another New York City band. Founded by 4 NY natives in 2002, the JSE quickly became known for their intense live-shows that emphasized on songwriting and psychedelia and for their name- the Jared Sochinsky Experiment or the Jay Sharp Experience, depending on who you asked.

Jared and Jay, friends from the High School of Art & Design, (both accomplished producers and engineers) met up every Tuesday to track and demo using Protools, Reason, mBoxes and home-recording methods learned at IAR, the Looking Glass studio and by reading old issues of Tape Op magazine.

Following Jared's departure, the band continued playing both acoustic or with a full-band for years. Alex "Nappy" Gonzalez joined Natalia McCarty and Jay Sharp in 2008. The JSE then appeared in the first-ever Kickstarter (as full-page color photo of the band performing live) campaign titled "New York Makes a Book". The photo was from an AIDSRawk benefit show that was held in conjunction with AIDSwalk. Jared Sochinsky's brother, Alex, filled in on drums.

The band continued recording until 2009 when Patric Valentine (Rising From A Fall, A Black Tie Affair) joined on drums and

in 2010, the band released their first EP "Blood Brothers" that teased early mixes and live tracks featuring Patric. The record caught the ear of Sandor Gavin at Skip-Stop Records who mastered it as well as their full-length debut and added it to his label's roster.

2011 was a busy year for the band as they had 4 more releases! A live album of recordings the Trash Bar in Williamsburg, Brooklyn as well as recordings from Lower East Side staples, Arlene's Grocery and the Delancey. Recordings from the "Magic Sundae" podcast in Astoria, Queens rounded out the release.

Their first LP "the Trouble With Neith" featured the talents of Smokin' Joe Haines on bass who joined the band as Nappy relocated to Florida. Rehearsals for the show ended with a recording session (with the help of Michael Mazarraco) @ Joe's home on Long Island titled "Ezra's Basement".

The Record Release show for "Neith" found the band reuniting with Nappy, and the newly annointed 5-piece began playing and recording with Smokin' Joe on 2nd guitar. "Midnight Cattle" was released on xmas 2011 and showcased the bands augmentd sound and varied talents of Jay, Joe and Nappy as they switched between bass or guitar as needed.

After utilizing a successful kickstarter campaign of their own, the JSE self-released "Melodius Acensxionn Befvore the Fall to Dead" in 2012 after 8 years of delays. To present the album live, various guests from local bands joined Martin Luque (Losing You To Tattoos, the Dissenters, SuperNova Beast) & Jason Lisko (Anonymous By Nature) as additional guitarists. Debbie Chou (the Barrens) added keyboards and synth and Feline and Ben Simborski (the rhythm section of Cincopath) rounded out an 11-person "mighty" JSE band.

2013 welcomed two new permanent members to the fold, Huston Shcarr (whom is producing a solo record with Jay Sharp) and James M. Graham after appearing at the historic Webster Hall with label mates the Pretentious Pretenses and Dark Moon Apache.

This year marks the launch of their artist collective and label the FFC.

The band is also currently in the studio working on their hardest, darkest album yet. An LP tentatively titled "the King Crawls". LP no3 will feature a dozen musicians from the bands' past and present.
